Look! Sky!

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

In the sky at night this week is a large, bright, crescent-shaped object. What is it called?

What is this?

What is this?

No, silly. It’s a cow. “Moon” is what a cow says.

Will suspenders green plaid dino

The shirt is from Sue (of course). Plus suspenders because I can’t keep any of Will’s pants up. And he gave me his best smile for the picture!

Two Developmental Milestones

Family swim at the YMCA last night. Hannah loves to jump into the pool to Daddy. Will saw her and said, “I jump.” I was surprised both because he had been a little scared of floating with me and also because he formed and pronounced this phrase so well. He jumped and jumped and my arms are killing me this morning. But what a joy to see Will discover and enjoy the world!

Hannah pose

Hannah really enjoyed the up-close views of the giraffes and elephants. Upon seeing them she cried out, “Oh, it’s so romantic!” to the amusement of anyone within earshot.

theory of mind

“Let’s stop running. My stomach hurts.”

“Okay. You can put your hands on top of your head, and point your elbows up, and the muscle in your stomach that hurts will stretch and feel better.”

[We both walk around for a minute stretching.]

“Let’s run some more now!”

“No, let’s wait a while. I’m tired too.”

Astonished: “Are you feeling what I’m feeling?”
